Help! I'm using a third monitor for full-screen playback in Avid, but it's out of sync.

Yup, that's super annoying. But you're in luck, it can be fixed!
With Avid Media Composer open, create a new sequence with lots of cuts. Put in a slate with a clap if you have one. It will help you judge sync.
Go to the Settings tab.

Either scroll down, or hit the letter "d" to jump to the "d" section.
Click on "Desktop Play Delay"
Adjust the "Video Sync Delay for Remote Client Milliseconds" and select OK.
Play back your sequence and assess sync.
Open "Desktop Play Delay" and adjust as necessary.
Helpful Hint: If you're on a TV show or movie, ask your tech team to fix your sync. They're there to help, and you don't need to solve every problem by yourself.
Please note:
If your sync is out by more than half a second, then Desktop Play Delay will not be able to make up the difference. It could be a problem with your monitor.
If you adjust the "Desktop/Hardware Sync Delay" then it will delay playback in your source and record monitors, which will knock you out of sync with your speakers.
